Indonesia blocked Steam and various other services

People are enraged as to why Indonesia would block Steam, Epic Games, PayPal and many other services. Their local government organization called "Kaminfo" is mainly responsible for this widespread block of such services. People have taken to social media and started a new trend againt this organizational body saying "Block Kominfo" in their own language "BlokirKominfo".

Indonesians have been given a final ultimatum to withdraw any money or assets they have in websites like Steam, Epic Games, Battle Net, Ubisoft, Origin, Nintendo, Yahoo, and PayPal. After which these websites will be blocked.

This is based on the rule that was introduced in 2020 where Indonesia can ask any online entity to disclose certain user data that they need otherwise the content could be taken down within a few hours. These companies were asked to sign to these new rules with a deadline of 20th July but they didn't complete this task. Some companies like Amazon, Facebook and Google agreed and completed it within the deadline. The reasons as to why some companies didn't sign that agreement are still unclear.

Whatever happened everybody in Indonesia who uses these services is very unhappy about it and all they can currently do is go to twitter to vent their anger.
