Netflix has been pushing the gaming aspect of their app slowly and steadily and now they are showing even more interest into this narrative by opening a new game development Studio in California. The company knows the importance of gaming and how lucrative this business can be that's why they are not letting this thing go away.
Netflix is still considering the cloud gaming where Google Stadia badly failed and had to shut down their business altogether. They believe in adding some more value to the mix when it comes to providing their users with quality content they believe that gaming could just add more variety for the users and keep them interested even more in the platform.
The reason why Stadia failed was because they didn't use an existing platform for the users and tried to create a new one for them. This is where I think it became really difficult for most people to adapt to it. Stadia didn't provide any of the users with a gaming console instead they relied on cloud structure and a gaming controller to have people play the games.
Netflix on the other hand already have millions of users using their app on the daily basis and they will simply introduce more and more games to the app inside the user experience that people already are having. This will make it easier for users to adapt to the new gaming content as well when they see it.
By having a new studio opening up to create their games Netflix will definitely step up their game and provide unique content to its users. Will this work for Netflix? Only time will tell.
