Ground Fireworks: A Blast from the Past in GTA Online

Remember the days when Grand Theft Auto Online (GTAO) had ground fireworks? It has been a few years since players could enjoy them, but some users are reminiscing about the fun feature and wishing for their return.

Reddit user Zeustah- posted on the r/gtaonline subreddit 12 hours ago, asking if anyone else remembered the ground fireworks and if they wished they would come back. As of writing, the post has received 66 comments, with some users sharing their thoughts on why the feature was removed.

One user, thunderuckus1, remembered the feature but couldn't understand why it was removed. Another user, orangedin, explained that the fireworks were bugged and it was easier for developers to remove them than to fix the issue. The fireworks caused problems on the X360 and could crash the server if a group set them off simultaneously.

Hailfire9 added that the issue might not be relevant today, but because GTA Online has spaghetti code, it's possible that it's still a problem. A_Gent_4Tseven shared that one of the easiest ways to clear a server was to get two people in the same house to set off fireworks. This would empty out the server half the time, leaving the user in the game, while the other half of the time, the user would also be disconnected.

DyLaNzZpRo commented that the issue may not have been consistent, as he and his friend set off all their remaining fireworks on the day the PS3 version shutdown, and they didn't disconnect or crash. A_Gent_4Tseven replied, saying he wasn't sure if it was a consistent issue for long, but he could only speak for the games he played on the Xbox 360 and Xbox Series X.

The discussion continues, but it's clear that the ground fireworks were a fun feature that many players enjoyed. Despite the bugs, some players would like to see the feature return, while others understand the issues it caused and don't want it to come back. It's interesting to see the different perspectives and experiences users had with the feature, and how it affected their gameplay. Perhaps the developers will consider bringing back the ground fireworks, but they will need to ensure that it doesn't cause any problems this time around.
