Helldivers 2 Takes a Stand Against Credit Cheating!

So, it turns out that not everyone is playing fair in Helldivers 2. Who would have thought? It seems some players have been getting a bit too creative with the premium currency called super credits, which are essential for snagging Warbonds. This prompted Arrowhead to step in with some new measures to combat this sneaky behavior.

In a recent post on Steam, the developer acknowledged the frustration shared by many players. They mentioned that cheaters and exploiters can really ruin the fun, especially when they’re raking in super credits at rates that normal players definitely can’t match. Arrowhead now has a game plan in place to monitor these suspicious activities more closely. If they catch someone earning credits at a ridiculous pace, they’ll be ready to take action.

Importantly, Arrowhead assures players who are grinding away for their super credits through regular gameplay—like completing missions, looting bunkers, and clearing points of interest—that they won’t see any changes. The focus is solely on those who resort to cheating, such as using bots or exploiting the system to max out their super credits in no time.

While Arrowhead’s intention to maintain a fair game economy is commendable, it’s worth noting that Helldivers 2 doesn’t exactly have a player-driven economy. You can’t trade items with others or influence Warbond prices, so the whole concept can feel a bit off. Plus, it’s Arrowhead that stands to gain the most from a healthy credit system.

But let’s be real—one major issue at hand is that earning super credits can be a grind. Players are stuck going back to the same handful of locations repeatedly, and it can become pretty dull. To add to the frustration, the quickest method to earn these credits is to play on easier difficulties, which can mess with the natural progression players expect.

Now, I’m not suggesting that super credits should become a walk in the park to earn. However, considering Helldivers 2 has sold a whopping 20 million copies, Arrowhead might want to consider making the process of earning credits a little more exciting. Maybe they could introduce new side quests or combat challenges to spice things up instead of just waiting for them to pop up randomly.

On a brighter note, Arrowhead has been actively listening to player feedback and making changes to improve the gaming experience overall. They’ve worked on various aspects of Helldivers 2, from performance tweaks to player progression adjustments. Thanks to these efforts, there’s been a notable shift in reviews on Steam, moving from mostly negative to mostly positive in just a couple of months. While we might not be in the “everything is perfect” phase yet, it’s clear that Helldivers 2 is making a comeback, and that’s something to celebrate!
