LEGO’s Dungeons and Dragons Set Vanishes Before Retirement Date

LEGO’s much-talked-about Dungeons and Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale set has flown off the shelves, and finding one now is like searching for a needle in a haystack! Although it won’t officially retire until July 31, major retailers such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy are already out of stock. Even the LEGO website itself has the dreaded “sold out” notice up for this popular item.

If you happen to stumble across this extraordinary set, which is priced at $359.99 (approx. Rs 100,080), consider yourself lucky! The Dungeons and Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale is a massive 3,745-piece set that beautifully recreates Cinderhowl, the Red Dragon, from the legendary tabletop RPG by Wizards of the Coast. This set is not just any LEGO build; it’s a tall structure at over 19 inches, stretching more than a foot in width and depth. Plus, it features a uniquely crafted Beholder that definitely stands out from other LEGO builds.

Inside the box, you’ll find six minifigures including an innkeeper, a Dragonborn, and four adventurers, each representing classic DnD classes. What makes this set even more exciting is the downloadable digital Dungeons and Dragons campaign that allows players to use their LEGO pieces as game components. IGN’s Kevin Wong, who had a chance to build the set, shared his enthusiasm, noting, “LEGO Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale offers so much to discover, with its colorful design and attention to detail that catches your eye from across the room.”

Now, you might be wondering, what happens when a LEGO set retires? Once a set is officially retired, production halts, meaning it can be tough to find in stores. While some sets linger on shelves for a while after retirement, popular ones like this usually vanish quickly. However, don’t fret—retired LEGO sets can often be found on platforms like eBay or Amazon, though you might pay a premium price. Alternatively, you could hunt for secondhand options at a lower cost, but be cautious as some pieces might be missing.

If you’re on the lookout for other retiring LEGO sets, there are still a few options available on Amazon. Just be aware that many are already out of stock at the LEGO Store itself!

Note: PKR figures are approximate, based on a rate of Rs 278.00 per USD. Exchange rates fluctuate — please check the latest dollar rate for exact pricing.
