GTA 6 Leaker Throws More Fuel on the Fire, Defying Take-Two’s Legal Clampdown!
Hey PakGamers! Just when we thought the drama around the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks couldn’t get any wilder, the alleged leaker has once again made headlines. Despite heavy legal pressure from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, more gameplay footage has surfaced online, adding another twist to this ongoing saga.
The individual or group behind the ‘CyberLeek’ persona recently dropped two additional gameplay videos. One clip reportedly showcased some high-octane supercar action alongside an armed robbery sequence, while the other took us into a strip club. What’s really caught everyone’s attention, though, is a snippet in the strip club video where a character says they “need to take a leak” – a clear jab at Take-Two and Rockstar, indicating the leaker is far from intimidated.
These latest uploads mark the seventh and eighth leaked videos to emerge this week. The community is growing increasingly concerned that the leaker might have deep access to an early build of the game, potentially leading to major story spoilers being revealed before Rockstar is ready. And, just like the previous leaks, these new videos continue to promote the ‘CyberLeek’ memecoin, which many believe is part of a cryptocurrency scheme.
Take-Two, understandably, isn’t taking this lightly. They’ve been on a full-blown mission to unmask the culprits. Federal court saw them issue Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) subpoenas to both Microsoft and Discord on August 20. Their aim? To get identifying information linked to user accounts from several Discord servers, including one connected to the well-known Australian GTA content creator, Matthew “Matt” Judge, also known as DarkViperAU. Judge has, however, denied any involvement.
Adding to their legal offensive, Take-Two also hit GitHub with a DMCA takedown notice earlier this week, demanding the complete removal of a repository sharing the stolen content. They’ve made it clear they want to identify those responsible for posting the leaks there, as well as wanting “all internal Microsoft business records and investigative records associated with Microsoft’s internal investigation of the ‘cyberleek’ persona” to pinpoint the individual(s) behind it all.
The legal wheels are certainly turning. The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York granted the Microsoft subpoena on August 21. Even Xbox’s Chief Technical Officer, Scott Van Vliet, weighed in, tweeting his support for Take-Two and Rockstar Games in their efforts to protect creative works. Discord, for their part, confirmed they review and comply with all valid DMCA subpoenas as standard practice.
While Rockstar and Take-Two themselves haven’t released any official statements, it’s safe to say there’s a lot of frustration brewing internally. Reports suggest that the developers are both angry and baffled by how these leaks occurred and who is behind them, with no clear answers yet.
Despite all this behind-the-scenes drama, the show must go on! Netflix is still on track to tease “Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look” this coming Thursday, August 27. This exclusive peek will be available on the streaming platform for six hours before making its way to other sites like YouTube. So, mark your calendars for that!
For those eagerly awaiting the next chapter, Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently slated for release on November 19, 2026, heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Let’s hope this legal battle gets sorted soon so we can all look forward to a smooth launch of one of gaming’s most anticipated titles!
