Subnautica 2: Power Up! Your Guide to Fixing the Plant & Reaching the Observatory

Salaam fellow deep-sea explorers! If you’ve been diving into the mesmerizing, yet sometimes terrifying, alien oceans of Subnautica 2’s early access, you’ve probably hit a major roadblock: that massive Alien Power Plant that needs fixing up to get into the mysterious Observatory. Well, good news! Your friends at PakGamersHub are here to guide you through this epic mission, which currently wraps up the main storyline in the game.

Getting this Power Plant back online and opening the Observatory isn’t a walk in the park; it’s a true test of your resourcefulness and a culmination of your journey so far. You’ll need some crucial upgrades and a whole lot of materials. First things first, make sure your trusty Tadpole submersible has its Depth module – you won’t get far without it!

Your Mission: Repair the Alien Power Plant

The Alien Power Plant is that colossal structure hovering above the Angel Comb in the Alien Ruins region. Repairing it is a multi-stage process, so let’s break it down, step by step:

Step 1: Clear the Angel Comb & Acquire Axum Vision

Your first task is to clear out the Angel Comb area within the Alien Ruins. If you follow the massive purple tube east of the Research Base, you’ll find its heart. This place is infested with viral blooms, and to deal with them effectively from a distance (so they don’t snap shut on you!), you’ll need the Feedback Resonator upgrade for your Sonic Resonator. Once you’ve cleared these pesky flowers, you’ll be able to grab the Axum Vision Adaptation. With that in hand, head to the alien control room built into the crater wall, which conveniently overlooks the Angel Comb. Interact with the central console by the window, and voilà, the first stage of the Power Plant repair is done!

Step 2: Repair the Alien Turbine & Restart the Power Plant

Next up is repairing the gigantic Alien Turbine situated directly above the Angel Comb. Pilot your Tadpole upwards onto the large circular structure. Make your way around to the east side of its circumference. Keep an eye out for some colony crates and a distinct blue light – that’s where you’ll find the broken turbine you need to scan.

Scanning it reveals it was sabotaged (those colonists, eh?). Now, get ready, because this is where the real resource grind begins! To fix it, you’ll need:

  • 10x Titanium Ingots
  • 10x Mangalloy Ingots
  • 10x Strontium

That might sound like a lot, but let’s break down what you need for the Processor to craft those ingots:

  • 60x Titanium (yes, sixty!)
  • 20x Celestine
  • 10x Atacamite
  • 10x Troilite

The 60x Titanium seems daunting, but remember, you need 10 for Titanium Ingots and another 10 to craft the Mangalloy. The real challenge here is often the Troilite. Trust us, it’s scarce! Our pro tip: set up a Metal Farm and make sure you always keep at least one Troilite in your inventory to use with it – it’s a lifesaver for generating more of this rare material.

Once you’ve gathered and crafted everything, it’s time to head back to the turbine. You can either use your Tadpole’s Haul Chassis or clear out at least 30 inventory slots. Pull out your trusty Habitat Builder, and construct the turbine just like you would any other facility.

Finally, head to the control room directly opposite the newly repaired turbine. Inside, you’ll find several alien consoles. Interact with each dial and slider until they glow green. Once all are green, activate the central console, and congratulations – the Power Plant roars back to life!

Entering the Observatory

With the Power Plant now buzzing with energy, the path to the Observatory is clear! This imposing tower, located near the Alien Ruins Research Base, now has an open door. Drive your Tadpole around its circumference to the west side, opposite the Alien Ruins. You’ll spot the entrance – head inside, pull the lever you find, and see what mysteries await. We won’t spoil the ending for you, but this moment marks the current conclusion of Subnautica 2’s early access story!

It’s been a tough dive, but totally worth it, right? What do you think lies ahead in future updates? Let us know in the comments!
