Just got some news regarding Danganronpa 2x2 that I wanted to share with the community here. The upcoming remaster has officially been delayed from its previously planned 2026 launch, now set to arrive in early 2027 as the developers confirmed they need more time for polish. To cushion the announcement, they also revealed details about a brand new "Slayhem Mode," which will offer a completely different storyline, complete with new victims, culprits, and an estimated 20% more content. We'll also see a 3D world map and updated character portraits, moving beyond the original's side-scrolling style. While delays are never ideal and it's a bit of a bummer to wait longer, the idea of a whole new narrative path within the game is incredibly exciting and might just make the extra wait worthwhile for a more complete experience.
