*The Power of Small Habits* Success in life rarely comes from one big decision. It usually comes from small habits repeated every single day. The things we do automatically, without thinking, shape who we become. A habit is just a routine that your brain learns to save energy. Brushing your teeth, checking your phone in the morning, or going for a walk are all habits. The problem is that not all habits help us. Some hold us back, like scrolling for hours or procrastinating. The good news is that habits can be changed. Psychologists say it takes about 21 to 66 days to build a new habit. The key is to start small. Instead of saying “I will go to the gym for 2 hours,” start with “I will do 10 pushups.” Instead of “I will read 5 books this month,” start with “I will read 2 pages a day.” Small wins build momentum. Over time, those 2 pages become 20 pages, and 10 pushups become a full workout. Good habits compound. Reading 10 pages a day means 18 books in a year. Saving a little money each week becomes a big amount in a few years. Learning one new skill for 15 minutes a day makes you an expert in 2 years. The best way to build good habits is through consistency, not motivation. Motivation comes and goes, but systems stay. Set a fixed time, remove distractions, and track your progress. Also, be patient with yourself. Missing one day does not ruin everything. In the end, we don’t rise to the level of our goals. We fall to the level of our habits. If we choose our daily habits wisely, the future we want will take care of itself.
