Not about food.
There seems to be a noticeable shift in Lahore’s skyline over the past couple of years. Areas like Gulberg, Main Boulevard, MM Alam Road, and especially the newly developing Central Business District (CBD Punjab) are seeing a surge in high-rise construction. For those who haven’t explored these areas recently, the transformation might come as a surprise.
Some believe that companies like Emaar, known for their projects in Dubai, are involved, though it appears that multiple developers and private firms are pushing forward with these projects. A lot of infrastructure development and financial agreements have reportedly been finalized for CBD Punjab, pointing toward serious long-term planning.
This brings up an interesting discussion — is Lahore becoming a new investment hub? Has the city’s economy matured enough to attract this kind of development? Until recently, the Arfa Karim Tower was one of the few prominent high-rises, and even that pales in comparison to what's going up now.
What are your thoughts on this vertical shift? Is it good for Lahore’s future, or does it risk compromising the city’s traditional aesthetic? Is this organic urban growth or just another real estate bubble?
s Lahore on the Rise (Literally) with High-Rises?
