Fallout 1 Joins the Adventure on Fallout 4’s Pip-Boy Thanks to Dedicated Modder
Hey gamers! It’s been an exhilarating month for the modding community, particularly for one ambitious modder known as RPGKing117. This talented individual has been pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, taking a nostalgic journey through the realms of classic games.
This time around, RPGKing117 is diving into the world of Fallout 1, making it accessible right from the Pip-Boy in Fallout 4. That’s right—now you can experience the original Fallout adventure on those retro-style monochrome screens we all love. Talk about a blast from the past!
While the mod isn’t out for public use just yet, RPGKing117 has hinted that it will eventually appear on his GitHub and Nexus Mods pages, just like his previous Morrowind project. For now, we’re lucky enough to have a sneak peek through a YouTube video showcasing the mod in action. It’s definitely one to check out!
The magic behind RPGKing117’s Morrowind mod involved the Fallout 4 Script Extender and the OpenMW source port, allowing both games to run simultaneously. With this setup, players could launch Morrowind from within Fallout 4, seamlessly controlling both games at once. A custom version of OpenMW even streamed the visuals from Morrowind directly onto Fallout 4’s in-game displays!
As for how the Fallout 1 mod will work, we’re still in the dark until RPGKing117 drops more details. However, there’s already a source port available for Fallout 1 called Alex Batalov’s Community Edition, which is likely what RPGKing117 is using to bring this classic back to life.
If you’re eager to get your hands on this unique mod, keep an eye on RPGKing117’s pages for updates. As a huge fan of “games within games,” I can’t get enough of these innovative projects. It’s refreshing to see modders stepping beyond the usual “Doom on everything” meme and rediscovering other legendary titles.
