Yaar, just heard something mad interesting about the original Guild Wars game and it's blowing my mind! Turns out, back in 2005, ArenaNet actually tried to avoid the "MMO" label for GW1, calling it a CORPG instead. Their reasoning was that it was mostly instanced, focused on smaller player teams with henchmen or NPCs, and you only saw other players in social hubs. The crazy part is, those exact things they thought made it *not* an MMO are now standard features in huge modern games like FF14 and even WoW, which heavily feature solo content and NPC companions. It just goes to show how far ahead of its time Guild Wars really was; they basically predicted the evolution of the genre without even trying! This makes me even more hyped for Guild Wars 3, knowing their original vision was so forward-thinking.
