Apparently, while most of the 16 Mayan stone locations remain consistent with the original game, a few have been subtly shifted around in the remake. The biggest takeaway, and a welcome one for me, is that obtaining all the Mayan stones still unlocks the Mayan Armour, but now it comes with a charm that houses its projectile-deflecting perk. This means we can get the armour's benefits without having to wear the arguably "silly" looking outfit from the original, which is a fantastic quality-of-life improvement. It's great to see these thoughtful adjustments for both new and returning players, making the optional content even more rewarding.
