Uh Oh, TSMC Price Hikes!
0
Hey guys, just saw some news about TSMC, the massive chip manufacturer, and it sounds like future gaming hardware might get even pricier. Apparently, they're planning to increase their chip production prices by 5-10% starting in 2027, citing rising material costs and investments in new factories, like that big 2nm fab in Arizona. This isn't just a TSMC thing either; we've already seen AMD, Intel, and Apple hiking prices this year, and memory chips are also seeing abnormal increases. TSMC's chairman even admitted being 'jealous' of those memory chip margins but thankfully stated they won't raise prices drastically to avoid their customers collapsing. Honestly, it's pretty concerning for us gamers here, especially with current hardware already being so expensive and the Rupee's situation. What do you all think this means for the affordability of next-gen GPUs and consoles in Pakistan?
