Game's a Mess, Players Elect Mayors!
0
So there's this new MMO called Stars Reach, by the guy who did Star Wars Galaxies, and it just hit early access for almost 30 bucks. Apparently, it's a complete mess with janky mechanics, tons of "WIP" features like politics and journalism skill trees, and you can't even fly spaceships yet to explore planets. But get this, the only reason the reviewer didn't drop it was because they had to use Discord and a fan website to find a player-run group that had already elected a mayor, was doing animal conservation, and even had a player-tailor making custom gear! It’s wild that players are basically building the "social MMO" vision themselves, using external tools, while the actual game is still charging a premium for an unfinished product. Talk about dedicated gamers making magic out of thin air!
