Arkane Austin's Secret Philosophy: "F*** Ladders"
0
Just read something pretty wild about Arkane Austin, before they unfortunately got shut down, that seriously cracked me up. Turns out, among their 20 core design philosophies they had plastered on the studio walls, one stood out boldly and succinctly: "F*** ladders." Honestly, I feel that on a spiritual level; we’ve all wrestled with janky ladder mechanics in games, getting stuck or falling through. Maybe their anti-ladder stance was too revolutionary for the world, or perhaps they spent too much dev time debating ladder physics instead of fixing other bugs! It's both hilarious and a little sad to think that was a genuine design pillar for them.
