Nintendo’s Commitment to Unique Gaming Experiences Shines Through Fan Appreciation
Nintendo has recently reacted to being voted the favorite game developer by readers of the popular Japanese magazine Famitsu, highlighting its journey and dedication to the gaming community. The magazine, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last month, conducted a comprehensive survey that attracted over 5,000 votes covering various gaming topics.
Unsurprisingly, Super Mario Bros. topped the list of players’ first-ever games, while Mario himself came out as the most beloved character, just edging out Cloud and Tifa from Final Fantasy 7. Additionally, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was crowned the “game to play again if you lost your memory” and deemed the “favorite game to recommend” to others. The creative mind behind Kirby and Super Smash Bros., Masahiro Sakurai, was recognized as the “favorite creator,” and Nintendo proudly took the title of “favorite developer.”
In response to this accolade, Nintendo expressed its gratitude to fans with a heartfelt message: “Thank you for selecting Nintendo as the No. 1 ‘Game Developer I Like,'” they said, also sharing their excitement over the warm reception of iconic titles like Mario and The Legend of Zelda. They reflected on their journey since the release of the Famicom (NES) in 1983, appreciating the support they’ve received throughout these four decades.
Nintendo acknowledged the evolution of technology and the gaming landscape, yet affirmed their commitment to originality as a guiding principle. They emphasized that through various trials and learning experiences, their mission has always been to create entertainment that brings smiles to players’ faces. “If this 40-year journey has become a part of your memories, nothing would make us happier,” they added.
Looking towards the future, Nintendo reassured fans that they will continue to take on diverse challenges in pursuit of unique entertainment experiences that only they can offer. As the gaming industry faces challenges, including shifts within companies like Microsoft and Sony, it’s refreshing to see Nintendo remain focused on what truly matters—delivering quality gaming experiences without the turmoil of constant layoffs.
