Pakistan Launches Secure Mobile Network to Protect Government Data

In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity, the Pakistani government is set to roll out a secure, below-internet mobile network designed specifically for over 10,000 officials. This initiative aims to prevent critical information leaks and ensure that sensitive government communications remain protected.

The project recently received approval from the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) as part of a larger framework of 24 initiatives valued at around Rs465.76 billion. Among these projects, the government also endorsed the PakSat-2 satellite, which is slated to replace the current PakSat-IR that will be decommissioned later this year.

This new mobile network represents a major step forward in safeguarding governmental operations and enhancing the security of vital information. As cyber threats continue to evolve, such measures are essential for maintaining the integrity of data within public sectors.

With this development, Pakistan aims not only to improve communication among officials but also to fortify the overall digital infrastructure that supports critical government functions.
