Why the Music Steals the Show in 007: First Light
As a die-hard music lover and gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to share my thoughts on what truly makes 007: First Light stand out for me. When I’m not diving into video games, you’ll usually find me at a live concert or hanging out with friends at a festival. So, you can bet I was thrilled when these two passions merged while playing through First Light.
The game kicks off with Bond heading to Malta for some basic training and a meet-and-greet with his team. But the moment I stepped into the Night Out chapter, I completely forgot about the mission. Instead, I was captivated by the electrifying atmosphere in a London club.
Let me tell you—the music is on point! With tracks from Chase and Status pumping through my headphones, I found myself mesmerized by the cutting-edge nightclub visuals that synced perfectly with the beat. It was an experience that left me momentarily frozen, soaking in how immersive it felt. Coming from my previous nightclub experiences in games like GTA Online, where the vibe is often drowned out by friends chatting, this was a revelation.
What’s really cool is how seamlessly the game transitions from cutscene to gameplay. Just after Bond raises a drink with his buddies, you’re thrown right back into the action, navigating through the vibrant crowd to locate a contact at the bar.
The way the crowd dances adds to the realism, each character grooving to the infectious rhythm. It’s like being in an actual club, complete with stylishly dressed individuals, and even that one guy in an oversized shirt who’s doing his own unique dance moves.
When my informant sends me on a mission to the bathroom for a package, I found myself getting lost in the crowd again, just soaking in the strobe lights and letting the bass reverberate through my headphones longer than most players might. It was hard to resist, honestly!
First Light isn’t the first to nail a nightclub scene, though. One of my personal favorites is Club Hölle from Hitman 3, which, fun fact, is also made by the same studio behind First Light. They’ve got a knack for creating realistic clubs, and I’m all for it!
So, if you happen to see me posting about taking a ridiculous amount of time to finish 007: First Light, don’t be alarmed. I probably spent a good chunk of that time just vibing in the club with the NPCs. Trust me, you’ll want to do the same!
