Unlocking Hardwood in Palworld: Your Guide to Crafting Success

Palworld’s latest update is a game-changer, bringing in a ton of new pals, weapons, and regions to explore. But amidst all these exciting additions, there are some essential resources that can easily slip under the radar—like hardwood, which is crucial for crafting.

As I delved back into the tech tree, everything seemed straightforward until I hit a wall with hardwood. This material becomes essential for high-level recipes, particularly between levels 40 and 50, following your basic planks.

After exploring various islands, I realized I overlooked some obvious spots for harvesting hardwood. Don’t worry; I’ve put together this guide to help you avoid the same mistake!

First up, you’ll want to check out the Twilight Dunes and the Sakurajima area. You can find hardwood relatively early in the game, especially in the Twilight Dunes and once you reach the Dancing Sakura Shrine.

For smooth sailing, unlock the fast travel points in these areas:

  • **Anubis Dunes** – Look for it northeast of the Anubis statue and boss arena.
  • **Moonflower Tower Entrance** – This spot is located northwest of the Sakurajima Watchtower statue.

You don’t need any fancy gear to gather hardwood; a simple Metal Axe will do just fine. In the Twilight Dunes, you can harvest hardwood from the unique, twisting trees with spiky leaves. As for the Sakura shrine, keep an eye out for the Sakura trees, particularly those with either a red or white trunk.

Be sure to stock up on hardwood and activate a few nearby fast travel statues, or better yet, set up a base close to the harvesting spots. You’ll need a good amount—specifically, 10 pieces of hardwood—when you craft a High Quality Wooden Board, which becomes available at level 43 in the tech tree.

Happy crafting, and may your adventures in Palworld be filled with exciting discoveries!
