Dive into the Chaos: New Total War: Warhammer 40,000 Gameplay Revealed
Last month at the PC Gaming Show, we were treated to an exclusive sneak peek of Total War: Warhammer 40,000, showcasing an intense clash between the Astra Militarum and the orks. Now, a fresh gameplay video released during BiliBili World has given us a deeper dive into the same epic battle set in the Armageddon Theatre campaign, and let me tell you, it looks absolutely stunning!
However, I can’t help but worry whether my rig can handle the graphical demands. Watching those explosions and limbs flying around makes me clutch my wallet in anxiety over potential hardware upgrades.
While the visuals are eye-popping, what really caught my attention is the game’s cover system. A few minutes into the video, you see players directing infantry to take cover behind barricades, and it appears they cleverly split into smaller squads based on the available cover. Plus, they can utilize upper levels of ruined structures for added protection.
Then come the ogryns, making their presence felt by trampling through barriers, while the regular infantry acrobatically vault over them. This adds a layer of strategic maneuvering—protecting our troops while ensuring we maintain our defenses. But, given the nature of this universe, maybe that’s not always a priority!
As the narrator chillingly notes while destruction rains down, “These men did their duty.” With an average life expectancy of just about 15 hours in combat, the Imperial Guardsmen know that once their job is done—tying down foes long enough for artillery to strike—they and their cover become mere pawns in the grand battle.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000 promises to deliver an exhilarating mix of strategy, dynamic combat, and stunning visuals that will keep gamers on the edge of their seats. We can’t wait to see more!
