Avengers: Secret Wars Filming Nears – Russos Feeling the Heat!

Hold onto your controllers, Pakistani Marvel fans, because it sounds like the next epic chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is closer than we think! Directors Joe and Anthony Russo, the masterminds behind some of the biggest superhero blockbusters, have just dropped a huge hint about when we can expect filming to kick off for Avengers: Secret Wars, and apparently, the pressure is already making them sweat!

When asked about the start date for Secret Wars, Anthony Russo’s reply was straight to the point: “Soon. So soon it makes us sweat a little bit.” Now that’s a level of intensity we can get behind! It seems even seasoned directors feel the heat when it comes to bringing a monumental Marvel event to life.

Currently, the dynamic duo is deep in the trenches, wrapping up another massive project. “We’re deep into finishing the movie, into finishing Doomsday,” Anthony explained. He shared a glimpse into the intricate process, mentioning “all of the grace notes, the music, working with Alan Silvestri, sound mix, creating Alan’s incredible original music.” Imagine the sonic spectacle they’re cooking up for ‘Doomsday’!

But that’s not all. While putting the finishing touches on ‘Doomsday,’ they’re simultaneously gearing up for their next big Marvel adventure. “Wait until you experience what he’s cooked up for Doom. That, and then we’re prepping. We’re prepping Secret Wars. So, it’s a complicated time in our lives, but thrilling,” he added. Sounds like a tight schedule, but the thrill of bringing these stories to us is clearly keeping them going.

Avengers: Secret Wars is currently slated for a December 17, 2027 release, and rumors have been buzzing for a while about filming potentially starting as early as this summer. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has also previously emphasized the studio’s strategic decision to leave a significant gap between major Avengers films. He shared his focus on “quality” over quantity, explaining, “We didn’t want to be spread thin, and the Avengers is as important as it comes.” This approach means we can expect nothing less than top-tier storytelling and spectacle when these films finally hit the screens.
