Is a Dragon Age Trilogy Remaster on the Horizon? Insights from ex-BioWare Producer
The gaming world buzzed recently when former Dragon Age series producer, Mark Darrah, shared his thoughts on the possibility of BioWare and EA remaking or remastering the original Dragon Age trilogy. According to Darrah, a remaster would likely do well in today’s market, especially considering how the original Dragon Age has aged—he humorously compared its visuals to a less-than-pleasant experience from a horror game.
However, he tempered the excitement by pointing out a significant hurdle: the technology behind those classic RPGs is quite complex, and there doesn’t seem to be a clear understanding of it among current developers at BioWare or even those outside the company. This lack of technical know-how makes the prospect of a remaster seem unlikely.
So, while the nostalgia for these iconic games runs deep, it looks like we may have to settle for the mods that keep the spirit alive for now. Fingers crossed that one day we might see the beloved characters and stories from Dragon Age get a fresh coat of paint!
