Shrek Joins the Brawls in Ubisoft’s Brawlhalla!
Shrek is back and this time he’s throwing down in Ubisoft’s popular fighting game, Brawlhalla! Following his recent cameo in a massive soccer title, everyone’s favorite green ogre is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his iconic film with a special event in the game.
The Brawlhalla x Shrek event is live and runs until August 19, bringing along fan-favorites like Fiona and Puss in Boots for some epic brawls. Plus, Donkey joins the fray as a trusty sidekick! Each character comes with their own unique fighting styles and gadgets. For instance, Shrek takes a humorous approach with his “Beware of Ogre” sign as a weapon, while Fiona prefers to get hands-on with her powerful punches and kicks.
Puss in Boots isn’t holding back either, wielding his sword and lance to unleash some serious damage. And let’s not forget Donkey, who’s there to cheer everyone on and react to the unfolding chaos in true Donkey fashion!
But the fun doesn’t stop with just new characters. Players can also explore exciting new maps like Shrek’s Swamp and Shrek’s Muddy Swamp. On top of that, there are some cool items available for purchase, such as a KO effect featuring Mongo the giant gingerbread man and unique emoji skins for characters like Lord Farquaad, Dragon, and Pinocchio.
This year has been a big one for Shrek, with the original movie hitting theaters again to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Fans can also look forward to the much-anticipated Shrek 5, which is set to be released in Summer 2027. The franchise has made an incredible mark, raking in around $3 (approx. Rs 830) billion across its four main films, not even counting the Puss in Boots spin-offs!
There’s more on the horizon as DreamWorks is also busy working on a Donkey-focused movie set for 2028, with Eddie Murphy returning to give voice to his beloved character. Beyond the big screen, Shrek-themed attractions continue to thrive at Universal Studios, and the numerous hilarious Shrek memes have kept the spirit of the franchise alive and well throughout the years.
