Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Unraveling the Biggest Questions and Theories

Alright, Spider-Man fans, it’s time to put on your thinking caps because Spider-Man: Brand New Day has left us with some serious questions. Spoilers ahead, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you might want to back out now!

First off, let’s talk about how the movie wraps up Peter Parker’s (played by Tom Holland) emotional arc. While it gives us a satisfying conclusion to his struggle against Jean Elaine Grey (Sadie Sink), it also throws a bunch of new twists and turns at us. With various plot threads dangling, we couldn’t help but dive into some of the most burning questions left unanswered.

What’s Up With the Post-Credits Scene? One of the wildest moments was the scene after the credits. It shows Ned’s (Jacob Batalon) Spidey-Tracker app trying to locate Spider-Man, only to end up zooming into space. This hints that Spidey might be off-planet during the upcoming events of Secret Wars. But, how is that even possible? Did Earth get destroyed? Or is he just chilling in a Life Raft somewhere? We’re leaning towards the former, but we’ll just have to wait to see where the web-slinger swings back in!

Where’s Jean Grey Off to? After her dramatic escape from Damage Control, Jean is shown leaving town on a bus. Speculation suggests she’s headed to the Avengers: Secret Wars. Could she be on her way to Westchester, the home of the X-Men? While Marvel hasn’t confirmed the existence of Xavier’s School in the MCU yet, the implication is clear: Jean is destined to cross paths with the mutants soon.

Did Spider-Man Create Mutant Inhibitors? Another interesting plot point revolves around the technology Spider-Man develops to suppress his own powers and Jean’s telepathy. This inhibitor chip could set the stage for future conflicts in the mutant world, especially if it lands in the wrong hands. Could our favorite web-slinger unintentionally become a source of trouble for mutants? Seems like a classic Spider-Man dilemma!

What About William Metzger? The main antagonist, William Metzger (Tramell Tillman), vanishes at the film’s end, leaving us wondering about his fate. His agenda to control super-powered beings aligns perfectly with potential storylines involving mutants in future X-Men movies. Is he lurking in the shadows just waiting for a chance to strike again?

Is Ned the Only One Who Remembers Peter? One of the most intriguing moments occurs when Peter reintroduces himself to Ned. Does Ned actually remember him, or is he just repeating his name? The film leaves us guessing. On the flip side, MJ (Zendaya) doesn’t seem to recall Peter at all, raising questions about their relationship moving forward. Is it because she’s evolved while Ned remains unchanged?

And What of The Punisher? Here’s a head-scratcher: why isn’t The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) locked up after all his violent escapades? He casually mingles in public without a care in the world. Maybe he gets a pass for helping Spider-Man, but still, it’s tough to swallow that someone with his history can just stroll around freely.

How is Peter Affording All of This? And let’s not even get started on the logistics of Peter paying rent and buying food. With his identity wiped from existence, how is he juggling expenses? The film glosses over this reality, which definitely raises an eyebrow.

These are just some of the myriad questions that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has thrown into the mix. As we gear up for whatever the MCU has in store for our beloved hero next, it’s a thrilling time to be a Spider-Man fan. What do you think? Any theories or questions of your own? Let’s hear them!
