Mistfall Hunter Hits 1 Million Players, Developer Unveils Exciting Roadmap
Mistfall Hunter, the intriguing blend of Soulslike RPG action and extraction shooter mechanics, has officially welcomed its one millionth player! To mark this milestone, developer Bellring Games has revealed an official roadmap that outlines the upcoming content for season 1, along with a sneak peek into what players can expect in season 2.
In an enthusiastic announcement on Steam, Bellring shared the exciting news: “Soekja just sent us some inspiring news: over 1,000,000 Gyldhunters have now joined the world of Weavereach!” They expressed their gratitude, stating that this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of the gaming community.
As a little thank you for their growing player base, all current players are encouraged to check their inboxes for some sweet goodies. Expect to find codes for a Spellcasting standing pose, five free Moonlight Nectars, a Pro Combat Bag, and an Advanced Combat Bag waiting for you!
Bellring has also noted that they’ve been receiving a significant amount of player feedback, particularly regarding the desire for solo play options on the Brandrgarde map missions. In response, they are introducing a solo mode for both Normal and Cataclysm missions, which is set to roll out in September as part of season 1.
However, the introduction of these new modes may affect matchmaking and balance in solo play, which the developers acknowledge. They’ve promised to keep players updated on any adjustments that may be necessary as they evaluate these factors.
Now, let’s dive into the roadmap! Season 1 of Mistfall Hunter is divided into three exciting phases. The first phase will introduce a new difficulty level for the endgame Einherjar mode, along with fresh, season-exclusive tasks and content. The second phase will unlock these new seasonal tasks fully and add the much-anticipated solo mode for Brandrgarde, as well as the Underworld speed challenge.
Things will get even more intense in phase 3, which will bring the new Golden Woodling monster—this sneaky creature will masquerade as treasure! Additionally, players can look forward to the Ancestor Tree random match event.
While details about season 2 are still under wraps, Bellring has hinted at the arrival of a new Blackarrow weapon, the Javelin, alongside a new seasonal theme and exclusive gameplay features. They’ve also promised a brand new progression system and more seasonal content that will be revealed gradually.
Despite its growing player base, Mistfall Hunter has received mixed reviews since its launch, currently sitting at a mediocre rating on Steam with 3,650 reviews. Many players have pointed out optimization issues, concerns about microtransactions, and a lack of solo options. Nevertheless, there’s potential for players who enjoy the Dark Souls-inspired fantasy world combined with innovative extraction gameplay. Here’s hoping the roadmap turns the tide on those reviews!
