Rockstar’s Disappointment: Actor Auditions 60 Times for GTA 6 Without a Callback

Rockstar Games has a rich history of collaborating with talented actors, and Robert Bogue is no stranger to that world. Known for his roles in titles like Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption, Bogue recently opened up about his experience in the auditioning process for the highly anticipated GTA 6. Unfortunately, it looks like he won’t be making a return this time around.

In a candid chat with fans on Instagram, later shared on Twitter, Bogue revealed that he put himself out there for more than 60 different roles in GTA 6 but hasn’t received any feedback from Rockstar. “I’m a little disappointed with Rockstar,” he admitted. “I had a fantastic time working with them in the past.” With a heartfelt mention of the talented producers and directors still at Rockstar whom he respects, Bogue expressed his eagerness to contribute to the next installment of the iconic series.

Despite his numerous auditions—ranging from minor to major roles—he didn’t land even a small part. “I just wanted to be part of the game,” he said, reflecting on the discouraging silence after all those auditions. “At one point, I even wondered if they had some kind of unofficial rule against bringing back familiar voices. It didn’t sit right with me.” This sense of being overlooked isn’t unique to Bogue; Rockstar has had a checkered history with its cast over the years, sparking discussions within the gaming community.

Bogue’s recent experience has left him feeling a mix of disappointment and frustration. “It feels like falling in love only to be ghosted,” he shared. The actor only knows bits and pieces about the game from the scripts he read while auditioning, which certainly adds to the sting of not being chosen. However, Bogue maintains a positive outlook on his past collaborations with Rockstar, highlighting the joy of those experiences.

As for GTA 6, gamers are buzzing with anticipation for this monumental release, scheduled for November. Fans can look forward to an in-depth look at the game dropping later this month, promising to unveil more about what Rockstar has been cooking up. With the shift to a digital-only release model, Rockstar seems set on redefining how players access their beloved titles. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches!
