Charlie Cox Swears He’s Not In Avengers: Secret Wars – But Should We Believe Him?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is always cooking up something big, and right now, all eyes are on the upcoming mega-events: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Fans are buzzing with speculation about which heroes (and villains!) will make an appearance, especially in the highly anticipated Secret Wars. Naturally, one name that frequently pops up is Daredevil, played by the brilliant Charlie Cox.

However, if you were hoping to see the Man Without Fear battling alongside the Avengers in Secret Wars, Charlie Cox himself has a message for you. At a recent event, MCM Birmingham in the UK, when directly asked about Daredevil’s potential involvement after Avengers: Doomsday, Cox was pretty emphatic. “No, I’m not going to be in – no,” he stated clearly, adding with a touch of playful exasperation, “Yes, sorry. And you can believe me now!”

Now, while we appreciate Charlie’s directness, us Marvel fans know better than to take everything at face value, right? The MCU has a legendary reputation for keeping its biggest secrets under wraps, going to extreme lengths to surprise audiences. Remember how tight-lipped everyone was about certain multiversal cameos? So, even though Daredevil isn’t listed for Doomsday, the cast for Secret Wars is still largely a mystery. It makes you wonder if Cox is just playing along with Marvel’s secrecy game!

What we *can* definitely look forward to, though, is Charlie Cox reprising his role in Daredevil: Born Again season 3, which is slated to hit screens in March 2027. And it gets even better: Elodie Yung is also set to return as Elektra, bringing another fan-favorite character back into the fold. So, even if he’s not in Secret Wars (yet!), we’ll still get our dose of Hell’s Kitchen action.

Speaking of big returns, the cast for Avengers: Doomsday is already stacked with familiar faces and some surprising comebacks. We’re talking about Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and even Robert Downey Jr. making a comeback as Doctor Doom! Yes, you read that right – RDJ as Doctor Doom! Now that’s a casting choice that has everyone talking.

Marvel went to incredible lengths to keep Chris Evans’s return as Steve Rogers a secret. Evans himself shared an amusing anecdote at Fan Expo Boston about the elaborate measures taken. To prevent any leaks, his character was given a codename throughout the production. “Within the script, my character was called Luke Cage just in case things leaked,” Evans revealed. “On the call sheets, I was called Luke Cage. Even on set, if I was going to set, they’d be like, ‘Luke Cage is travelling.’ It was such a locked-down thing.” Talk about dedication to secrecy!

So, mark your calendars, gamers! Avengers: Doomsday is set to premiere this December 18, bringing with it a whirlwind of epic superhero action and a potentially game-changing cast. Following that, the highly anticipated Avengers: Secret Wars arrives on December 17, 2027, promising an even grander spectacle. Whether Daredevil makes a surprise appearance or not, the future of the MCU looks incredibly exciting!
