Wardogs Has a Blue Team Problem, and Even the Developers Admit It

Just over a week into Wardogs’ Early Access, players have already spotted a pretty major imbalance between its three teams — and if you’re on Blue, things apparently aren’t going particularly well.

Players have noticed that the Blue team is losing far more frequently than Red and Green, to the point where the imbalance has become difficult to ignore.

And it isn’t just something players are imagining.

Bulkhead CEO John Brammer has acknowledged that there is a genuine balancing issue, saying:

“We definitely have a balancing issue.”

According to Brammer, Red and Green appear to be relatively competitive with one another, while Blue is having a considerably rougher time.

“Blue getting destroyed is definitely a problem with mixed reasons.”

The interesting part is that Bulkhead doesn’t appear to have pinned the problem on one specific mechanic yet. Brammer’s comments suggest that several factors could be contributing to Blue’s poor performance, and the developers are still trying to determine exactly what’s going wrong.

That could eventually lead to balance changes designed to bring the three teams closer together, although Bulkhead hasn’t detailed exactly what it intends to change yet.

It’s also worth remembering that Wardogs is still very early in its Early Access period. Player behavior, map knowledge, team populations and individual game mechanics can all change significantly as players become more familiar with the game.

For now, though, one thing seems pretty clear: Blue is having a bad time.

And if Wardogs decides to put you on the Blue team, you might want to prepare for pain — at least until Bulkhead figures out why they’re getting destroyed so often.
