AION 2 Restricts 4,996 Accounts in Crackdown on Bots and Gold Farming

AION 2 has restricted 4,996 accounts as part of a crackdown on bots and gold farming. Developer NC says the accounts were caught using bots, macros, or other unauthorized programs to gain an unfair advantage over other players.

According to NC, some of the restricted accounts were also farming gold to sell for real money, while others were making suspicious trades that could disrupt the game’s economy.

What NC Is Targeting

In an in-game notice titled “Account Restrictions,” NC told players that it continuously monitors in-game activity and the overall service environment to keep AION 2 fair for everyone. Following what it called a thorough review, the developer restricted accounts found to be in violation of its Operation Policy.

The notice lists two kinds of violations. The first is botting and gold farming, which covers the use of macros, bots, or other unauthorized programs, along with organized play patterns consistent with gold farming or real-money trading (RMT). The second is economy abuse, described as abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy.

What It Means for Regular Players

NC says every case was reviewed before any action was taken, and that normal players who spend hours grinding have nothing to worry about. Long play sessions on their own are not what the crackdown is aimed at.

Alongside the restrictions, NC has also temporarily locked some accounts that may have been hacked. Players who find their account locked may have been caught up in that measure rather than the ban wave itself.
