Arc Raiders Patch Supercharges Rocketeers, and Players Are Feeling the Heat

The latest patch for Arc Raiders has arrived, and while it introduces new content and balance tweaks, one particular fix is stealing the spotlight. Rocketeers—already one of the more intimidating Arcs roaming the surface—have just become far less forgiving.

And players? Let’s just say they’ve noticed.

A Small Fix With Big Consequences

Among various additions like new Arcs, cosmetic options such as beards, and general adjustments, one line in the patch notes stands out:

Fixed an issue where the Rocketeer sometimes would not shoot despite having a clear view of its target.

That “issue” may have been a bug from a development standpoint, but for players, it was often a brief moment of mercy. Occasionally, a Rocketeer would hover menacingly without firing, giving Raiders a precious second to reposition, reload, or escape.

Not anymore.

Now, if a Rocketeer sees you, expect rockets.

Wolfpack Crafting Changes Raise the Stakes

This tweak hits even harder because of another balance change: the cost of crafting Wolfpacks has increased. That makes Rocketeers more strategically important to engage—and defeat—than before.

The result? Higher risk, higher reward.

Previously, some players relied on predictable Rocketeer behavior to “farm” them efficiently. Certain indoor positions—like reinforced reception areas—allowed players to bait Rocketeers into hovering harmlessly outside doorways. Easy pickings.

With the bug fixed, that tactic may now be history.

One community member even joked that the “real problem” with Rocketeers was their “abundance of mercy.” Safe to say, that mercy has been patched out.

Open Areas Just Got More Brutal

The update also amplifies concerns about combat in wide-open spaces. Areas like Spaceport were already dangerous due to limited cover. Now that Rocketeers consistently fire when they have line of sight, getting caught outside feels even more punishing.

Some players argue the game needs better environmental balance—either through additional cover options or earlier detection tools for airborne threats. When rockets start flying from above without warning, survival can feel less like strategy and more like luck.

Lure Grenades and Smarter AI

There may be a silver lining. Fixing the Rocketeer’s firing logic could also resolve odd AI inconsistencies—such as cases where they ignored lure grenades entirely.

Some players previously attempted last-ditch plays by throwing lure grenades to redirect Arcs during intense fights. While smaller enemies like Wasps responded, Rocketeers sometimes carried on as if nothing happened. If AI responsiveness improves across the board, encounters may feel more consistent—even if they’re tougher.

And there’s something satisfying about defeating an enemy at full strength. No glitches. No hesitation. Just pure combat execution.

A Tougher Surface Awaits

Overall, this Arc Raiders update reinforces the game’s identity: survival through adaptation. The surface was never meant to be comfortable, and Rocketeers are now acting exactly as deadly as they look.

For players who relied on old farming methods, it’s back to the drawing board. For others, it’s a welcome step toward more polished enemy behavior.

One thing is certain: if you hear that mechanical hum overhead, don’t expect hesitation. The Rocketeers aren’t holding back anymore.
