Palworld Dev on Enshrouded: “We Didn’t Steal Their Spotlight!”
Yaar, remember that crazy start to the year when two massive survival games dropped almost simultaneously? We’re talking about Palworld, the ‘Pokémon with guns’ phenomenon, and Enshrouded, the gorgeous fantasy survival RPG. Both took the gaming world by storm, and for a while, everyone was wondering if one would completely overshadow the other. Well, the main man behind Palworld has finally weighed in on the friendly ‘rivalry’!
Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Pocketpair, the studio that brought us Palworld, recently shared his thoughts on Enshrouded. And guess what? He’s pretty humble about Palworld’s stratospheric success. Mizobe-san believes that Palworld didn’t “eat Enshrouded’s lunch” – meaning, Palworld’s massive launch didn’t actually harm Enshrouded’s own impressive debut.
In fact, he went a step further, suggesting that Pocketpair was incredibly fortunate for Palworld to stand out so much. He called the launch period a “stacked” time for the survival genre, with so many great titles coming out. It’s refreshing to hear a developer acknowledge the sheer luck involved, rather than just claiming pure genius, isn’t it?
It’s true, both games offer unique experiences. Palworld hooked millions with its creature-collecting, crafting, and action, while Enshrouded captivated players with its stunning voxel-based world, deep crafting, and action-RPG combat. There’s definitely room for both in our gaming libraries, and Mizobe-san’s comments just prove that the gaming community can thrive with multiple hits.
And speaking of Enshrouded, the folks at Keen Games aren’t sitting idle either! They’ve just rolled out a brand new update for their fantastic survival game. This is great news for all the Flameborn out there, keeping the game fresh and exciting as they continue their journey through the stunning but dangerous world of Embervale.
So, there you have it! A bit of developer insight showing mutual respect in the gaming world. It’s a good time to be a survival game fan, with developers supporting their peers and constantly pushing out new content for us to enjoy. What do you guys think? Did you play both? Let us know your thoughts!
