Unleashing the Dark Side: LEGO’s Darth Jar Jar Binks Joins the Party
Whether you’re a fan or a critic of the Star Wars prequels, there’s no denying the unforgettable impact Jar Jar Binks had in Episode I. I remember watching The Phantom Menace and thinking this character was just plain silly. But then I stumbled upon the infamous theory that suggests Jar Jar could actually be a Sith Lord! This idea first gained traction over a decade ago on Reddit, sparking discussions with some pretty convincing arguments, even if they haven’t been validated as fact. Nevertheless, the fascination with Darth Jar Jar continues, leading to his latest transformation in LEGO form.
Recently, he made his debut in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, a Disney+ Original series. While his appearance isn’t officially part of the canon, it’s still pretty cool to see him included as a minifigure in the new Dark Falcon set.
The LEGO Dark Falcon isn’t just another version of the Millennium Falcon; it’s one of the most stylish renditions out there. Though it isn’t the largest Falcon on the market, boasting over 1,500 pieces, it still packs a punch. The dark and edgy design of the ship sets it apart from the typical grey schemes we often see in Star Wars sets, and it comes with a lineup of some of the most interesting minifigures LEGO has released to date.
Alongside Darth Jar Jar, you’ll find Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Rey, Beach Luke, and Jedi Vader. Each of these characters has a unique twist that fits into an alternate timeline. Personally, I can’t get enough of Beach Luke, who somehow manages to look even more out of place in this ensemble. And let’s not forget about the all-white Vader; that’s a sight to behold!
Right now, the Dark Falcon is up for grabs at a price of $149.99, as part of a broader LEGO Star Wars sale. With May the Fourth approaching, you can expect a wave of discounts on Star Wars merchandise to hit the shelves soon.
Speaking of May the Fourth, LEGO recently announced a brand new Mandalorian N-1 Starship set during a livestream event. This set is tied to the upcoming Mandalorian & Grogu movie set to release later in May. Fans can grab it starting May 1 if they’re LEGO Insiders, while everyone else can get their hands on it starting May 4. Plus, there’s a Darksaber gift with purchase that’s generating quite a buzz!
