Former PlayStation Head Weighs in on Day-One PC Releases for PS5 Games
Hey gamers! You might remember Shuhei Yoshida, the guy who once led the PlayStation charge and headed up PlayStation Indies until he hung up his boots in 2025. Well, he’s back in the spotlight with some interesting thoughts on the idea of launching PS5 titles on PC on the same day they hit consoles.
Yoshida has been pretty clear about his stance: he’s not convinced that releasing big-name PlayStation games for PC right out of the gate is the best move for Sony. It seems he believes that a staggered approach could be more beneficial for the brand, allowing the console versions to shine first.
Interestingly, he also mentioned that despite some chatter out there suggesting Sony might be pulling back from PC releases, he hasn’t seen any definitive evidence to support that claim. So, it looks like the debate over day-one releases continues, and only time will tell how Sony decides to play its cards in the gaming arena.
What do you guys think? Would you prefer to see PS5 games drop on PC right away, or do you think a little wait could add more value to the console experience? Let us know your thoughts!
