Arc Raiders Riven Tides: This New Gadget is Giving Players Fiery Falls!

Hey there, Raiders! The Arc Raiders universe just got a whole lot more intense with the recent Riven Tides update, bringing in a ton of fresh arcs, patches, and some seriously cool new gadgets. While most of the new additions are hitting the mark, there’s one particular piece of gear that’s causing quite a stir – and a few fiery accidents – among players: the Powered Descender.

This epic new gadget sounds like a dream come true on paper. Imagine having a personal parachute, complete with two thrusters, allowing you to leap off insane heights and land like a pro. It’s designed to soften those bone-jarring falls, encouraging players to be bolder with their tactical jumps. Sounds simple, right? Well, apparently, it’s not quite as straightforward as it seems, and many a Raider has found themselves taking an unplanned express trip to the respawn screen.

We’ve seen players on social media expressing their “extreme disappointment,” often accompanied by hilarious (and tragic) clips. One player, for instance, shared a video of their ill-fated jump from the mighty dam in Dam Battlegrounds. Picture this: they activate the descender, somehow manage to set themselves on fire mid-air, and then, to add insult to injury, hit the ground hard enough to get knocked out. Talk about a rough landing!

So, what’s the catch? It turns out the Powered Descender isn’t a magic carpet that negates fall damage entirely. It’s more like a really good brake. If you’re dropping from truly epic heights – like the very top of the dam or the dizzying tower at Spaceport – it simply can’t slow you down enough to prevent you from taking a beating, or worse, becoming a permanent fixture on the landscape. Think of it as trying to stop a speeding bus with bicycle brakes!

But wait, there’s more! This gadget isn’t an instant-on solution. It needs a brief charge-up time before it kicks in at full power, and it definitely doesn’t run forever. Just like your car, it needs fuel, and that fuel supply is finite. So, before you decide to swan dive off every high-rise building on the map, make sure you’ve checked its charge and fuel levels. A little planning goes a long way to avoid a fiery demise!

Before you can even try out this adventurous (and sometimes deadly) gadget, you’ll need to get your hands on its blueprint. These elusive plans are tucked away in valuable lockers scattered across the Riven Tides map. Be warned, though: these lockers are hot commodities, often getting looted almost as soon as a game begins. So, you’ll need to be quick and maybe a little bit lucky to snag one for yourself. Good luck, Raiders, and happy (and safe) descending!
