Exciting News: Tales of Eternia Remastered is Coming Your Way!

Hold on to your controllers, RPG fans! Bandai Namco is back at it again, and this time they’re reviving a classic: Tales of Eternia is set to be remastered! Since the 30th anniversary of the Tales series, we’ve seen a steady stream of remasters, including last year’s Tales of Graces f and Tales of Xillia. Earlier this year, Tales of Berseria also made its way back into the spotlight. While the first two remasters were well-received, many fans felt the need for Tales of Berseria was a bit overblown, especially since the original still holds up quite well.

But now, it seems like Bandai Namco is shifting gears to bring us something a bit older. A recent listing from PEGI has hinted that Tales of Eternia Remastered is next in line for a comeback. Originally launched in Japan back in 2000, this gem was known as Tales of Destiny 2 in the United States—not to be confused with the Japan-exclusive Tales of Destiny 2. This game is a classic 2D pixel art JRPG, which was quite the rarity during the era when 3D graphics were all the rage.

Tales of Eternia gained quite a following in Japan, leading to a PSP port that also made its way to Europe and Australia. What’s surprising is that this title is getting a remaster before others like Tales of Xillia 2, especially since its predecessor has already made the jump from the PS3 days.

While I’m not the biggest fan of the series, it’s always great to see beloved older titles being made accessible again. At the moment, details on the release date are still under wraps, but it seems that the Nintendo Switch is the only platform confirmed so far. However, it’s likely that we’ll see this remaster on other consoles as well.

So, get ready to dive back into the world of Tales of Eternia and relive those classic adventures. Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s hope this remaster does justice to the beloved original!
