Marathon: Loot Overload! Bungie Supercharges Progression & Raids Before Season 2
Alright, gamers of Pakistan, get ready for some exciting news if you’ve been diving into Bungie’s latest sci-fi extraction shooter, Marathon! If you’ve felt like the grind was getting a bit too real after a few dozen hours, especially with those elusive high-tier upgrades and rare items, you’re in for a treat. Bungie is turning up the dial on rewards and speeding things up significantly with a massive “end of season” update hitting on May 19th!
The biggest change that’s got everyone talking is how easy it’s going to be to get your hands on those super rare locked room keys. Previously, these keys, which open up the best loot rooms on Tau Ceti, were a nightmare to find. But not anymore! From May 19th until the end of Season 1, Wardens will now GUARANTEE a locked room key drop during on-map events. That means no more frustrating hunts; you’re pretty much set to grab that premium gear!
And that’s not all! To make sure you’re always getting those sweet rewards, key map events like Intercept, Lockdown, Warden spawns, Convoy, and Anomaly are now guaranteed to pop up on every single run. Plus, Wardens themselves will be appearing in more locations across Perimeter, Dire Marsh, and Outpost maps. So, more Wardens, more keys, and more guaranteed events – talk about a loot bonanza!
But wait, there’s more! If you love the challenge of the Cryo Archive raid map, you’re in luck. It’s opening its doors 24/7 for the rest of Season 1. And for those who like a bit of competition, a new Ranked Cryo Archive playlist is launching with both low-stakes (3,000 credit buy-in) and high-stakes (10,000 credit buy-in) options. Time to show off your skills, yaar!
Bungie isn’t just stopping at loot; they’re also making overall progression smoother. You’ll see increased faction experience gains across the board for the rest of Season 1. Ever been downed and lost your key template? That’s a thing of the past! Key templates won’t break anymore; instead, you can turn them into actual keys by finding a Matter Fixative item from UESC bots. Plus, wall safes now have a chance to drop deluxe keys, and quick Rook runs are getting more convenient with a longer-lasting Signal Mask ability while sprinting.
While many of these fantastic changes are set for the remainder of Season 1, Bungie has a history of testing out updates that often become permanent. So, there’s a good chance some of these quality-of-life improvements might stick around for good. What’s definitely permanent, however, is faster faction progression!
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for June 2nd because that’s when Season 2: Nightfall kicks off! This new season will bring a brand-new Night Marsh zone, a fresh Runner shell, exciting new weapons, and an innovative system called “The Cradle” to customize your Runner shell stats. Expect even more quality-of-life updates based on player feedback. We’ll be bringing you full details and reveals for Season 2 the week of May 25th, so stay tuned to PakGamersHub!
