This year’s edition promises to be just as thrilling, but there’s a delightful surprise for fans: we’ll be getting our hands on Mechanicus 2 a bit sooner than expected! Set to release on May 21, this turn-based tactics game has already got fans buzzing with excitement. Robin Valentine, who had the chance to play a demo, described it as a promising taste of what could become an iconic strategy game in the Warhammer franchise.
One of the standout features of Mechanicus 2 is its upgraded Cognition system. Each unit in the game will have a unique method of gathering Cognition points, which are essential for activating abilities and performing various moves. Plus, fans will be introduced to the Leagues of Votann, the cool new space dwarf faction. For those who’ve been around the Warhammer block for a while, you might still call them “squats”!
The Warhammer Skulls showcase is not just limited to Mechanicus 2. Viewers can expect updates on a variety of titles including Darktide—rumor has it a new class might be unveiled—Space Marine 2, Dawn of War 4, Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy, Warhammer Survivors, Boltgun 2, Battlesector, and Total War: Warhammer 3. However, if you’re itching for news on Total War: Warhammer 40,000, Creative Assembly has indicated that more details will be shared by the end of June, so hold onto your horses!
The Skulls event will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch on Thursday, May 21, starting at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET / 5 pm BST.
