Kylo Ren’s Journey Continues in Marvel’s New Comic Series
Marvel is back at it, bringing us more of Kylo Ren’s saga with their latest series, Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren. Following the conclusion of Star Wars: Legacy of Vader, it was clear that fans would crave more of Ben Solo’s tumultuous journey, especially during the time between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker.
This fresh limited series dives deeper into the struggles of Ben Solo as he takes the reins as the Supreme Leader of the First Order. Expect some intense clashes with General Hux and Allegiant General Pryde as the power dynamics within the First Order get murky. Phil Noto’s eye-catching cover for The Fall of Kylo Ren #1 certainly sets the mood!
What’s great is that this series serves as a follow-up to 2020’s The Rise of Kylo Ren, which showcased how Ben transitioned into the menacing Kylo Ren and his control over the Knights of Ren. The dynamic duo of writer Charles Soule and artist Will Sliney are back together, and fans couldn’t be happier.
Marvel’s teaser for the new series reads: “THE LEGACY OF VADER CREATES A NEW EMPIRE OF FEAR!” This hints at Kylo Ren’s intense return, filled with fury and determination. As Hux and Pryde engage in their own treachery, Kylo is poised to cut through their schemes with ruthless precision. His newfound power is set to create a form of unity through fear, painting a picture of a Supreme Leader that neither general can evade, let alone survive.
In Soule’s words, “The story of Kylo Ren (and Ben Solo) always felt monumental to me. It was clear there was a lot more to uncover beyond what the films offered, and it’s been both an honor and a challenge to craft new stories for one of Star Wars’ most iconic villains. I’m excited to do it one last time, especially alongside the talented Will Sliney, who helped kick off this journey with me on The Rise of Kylo Ren.”
Sliney also expressed his excitement, stating, “This is the one book I have been eagerly waiting to return to. After working with Charles on The Rise of Kylo Ren, we knew we were part of something extraordinary. The enthusiasm from fans back then was unlike anything I’ve seen, and we’ve been secretly discussing The Fall of Kylo Ren for ages!”
With Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren #1 hitting shelves on August 12, 2026, it’s a must-read for any Star Wars aficionado. It will be interesting to see how this series builds upon the rich narrative established in Legacy of Vader, including fresh details about Kylo’s past, the long-absent Knights of Ren, and his encounters with the spirit of Darth Vader. What new twists await us? We’ll have to wait and see!
