Bros and sisters of the grimdark future, get ready! The highly anticipated Dawn of War 4 finally has official release dates, and a whole lot of juicy details about its launch and post-launch content were spilled at the recent Warhammer Skulls event. It’s time to start clearing your calendars!
For most of us, the standard edition of Dawn of War 4 will be hitting our PCs on **September 17th** this year. But for those who like to jump into the action a little early and snag some exclusive goodies, there’s a special treat. If you opt for the premium Commander Edition, you’ll be able to start your campaigns three days earlier, on **September 14th**!
So, what exactly does this fancy Commander Edition get you? Apart from the early access, it comes packed with some awesome post-launch downloadable content (DLC) that will expand your Warhammer 40,000 universe experience. We’re talking about an exclusive story prologue and a massive campaign expansion that even brings a brand-new faction into the fray!
The story prologue, officially titled “Blood Ravens Story Prologue,” will see a formidable Blood Ravens strike force returning to their ancestral homeworld of Aurelia. Led by a legendary commander, their mission promises to ignite pivotal battles over ancient relics, shaping the very destiny of their Chapter. Sounds like a thrilling start to the saga!
Then there’s the main course: a hefty campaign expansion. This one’s a big deal, introducing an entirely new, currently unnamed, faction for you to command or crush! Plus, it adds a whole new campaign storyline that kicks off right after the main game’s conclusion. You’ll also get new playable commanders and significant enhancements to the game’s popular Crusade Mode.
Speaking of Crusade Mode, it’s set to get even better, arriving sometime in autumn with a series of free updates. These updates will introduce fresh game modes, new map packs to keep the battles exciting, and, most importantly, a Mission Editor! This means you’ll be able to create, play, and share your very own custom battles with the PakGamersHub community – talk about endless replayability!
While exact pricing details for both editions haven’t been revealed just yet, you can expect the Commander Edition to be a bit pricier (obviously!).
