Plus, it’s amusing to see Evil Morty outsmarting Rick with his typical clumsiness.
The voice acting by Harry Belden deserves a shoutout, too. He effectively differentiates between Morty and Evil Morty, capturing the essence of both characters. There’s a hilarious moment where Evil Morty mocks his counterpart, showcasing Belden’s talent in a subtle yet entertaining way.
As always, the animation quality remains top-notch. “There’s Something About Morty” showcases some breathtaking visuals, especially during the intense battle against The Collective, which feels like a grand conflict between powerful beings. If you’ve seen Rick and Morty: The Anime, you might notice the series has never looked this anime-esque before, with some action scenes reminiscent of Dragon Ball! Watching these two go all-out is pure entertainment.
Looking ahead, Season 9 seems to improve upon the previous season, which had some weaker moments. While not every episode is a knockout, there are definitely some gems in this batch that stand out. The show continues to blend its signature mix of high-concept sci-fi and quirky humor, exploring Rick’s endless struggles and the dysfunctional Smith family dynamics.
