Xbox Boss Reflects on Logo Showcase Blunder: Adjustments Ahead!

In a recent chat about Xbox’s approach, CEO Asha Sharma admitted that displaying the logos of rival consoles during Xbox broadcasts was a bit of a misstep. She took full responsibility for this decision and mentioned that the team is now brainstorming ways to tweak this strategy for future shows.

Sharma’s remarks came just as Microsoft released a new episode of the Xbox Podcast. Here, Matt Booty, Xbox’s chief content officer, reiterated their commitment to showcasing competitor logos during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase set for June 7. He stated, “Absolutely! We want to make it clear which platforms our games are on. We’re building a solid system here to ensure transparency.”

This shift began back in February 2025 when Microsoft decided to include PlayStation and Nintendo logos in their official broadcasts, aiming for a more transparent gaming community. This move received praise from many fans and industry experts, who appreciated the honesty. Unlike the usual practice from other gaming giants, which often only highlight their own logos, Microsoft’s approach was a breath of fresh air for many.

However, not everyone was on board with this change. Some gamers felt that Microsoft should prioritize its own fans and give them the attention they deserve. With Asha Sharma at the helm, there have been promises of a “return to our roots,” hinting that exclusive titles might be back on the table for Xbox.

Booty’s renewed commitment to transparency for the Xbox Games Showcase didn’t sit well with all fans, prompting Sharma’s response. Yet, her comments haven’t entirely won over the crowd, as some believe she’s compromising Xbox’s identity in an effort to cater to rival fans.

Mark your calendars for June 7, as the Xbox Games Showcase is around the corner, followed by a focused presentation on the popular Gears of War: E-Day. It’s bound to be an exciting day for gamers!
