Get Ready for Some Classic Vibes: New Additions to PlayStation Plus!

Exciting news for all PlayStation fans! During the latest State Of Play event, Sony unveiled a fresh lineup of games heading to the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog, and it’s sure to stir up some nostalgia.

Among the highlights is the beloved Gitaroo Man, a rhythm game from the PS2 era that’s been a bit of a hidden gem for over 20 years. Developed by iNiS, this game is celebrated not just for its funky gameplay but also for its charming story and stunning visuals. You’ll step into the shoes of an average schoolboy who transforms into the titular Gitaroo Man, battling foes through the power of music. It’s a wild ride, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it!

Finding original copies of Gitaroo Man has been a challenge since it was released in limited numbers in the West, making them quite pricey on the resale market. Although a PSP version titled Gitaroo Man Lives was released back in 2006, this new addition to the Classics Catalog will be the definitive version many have longed for.

But that’s not all! Sony also announced that Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, a unique third-person action-adventure game that blends shooting with psychic abilities, will be hitting the Classic Catalog in July. And for those who love a good samurai story, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, the last installment in the series before the upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword, is set to join the lineup in August.

These classics will be available to PlayStation Plus Premium members, though many of these iconic PS1 and PS2 titles can also be purchased individually from the PlayStation Store. So, get your controllers ready and prepare to relive some unforgettable moments!
