Jack Quaid Takes on an Unusual Role in the Upcoming God of War Game

Get ready, gamers! Fresh off his role as Hughie Campbell in the hit series The Boys, Jack Quaid is diving into a completely different universe with an exciting new gig in the upcoming God of War game.

During a recent Sony State of Play event, it was announced that Quaid will voice a character named Phranque. And hold onto your controllers because Phranque is no ordinary character; he’s a speaking, mobile gelatinous cube! Sounds bizarre, right? But that’s just the kind of creativity we love in gaming.

In a behind-the-scenes glimpse, Quaid shared a bit about Phranque, describing him as a cosmic cube from a realm called the Everywhen. “When you start playing this game, you get the feeling that the Everywhen is in trouble, and Phranque will stop at nothing to protect all the living creatures that inhabit this world,” he explained.

The sneak peek also showcased Quaid’s motion-capture work, where he donned a cube-like apparatus to bring Phranque to life. He’ll join forces with Rue, a sentient ribbon voiced by Perlina Lau, and Faye, played by Deborah Ann Woll, who is Kratos’ late wife and the mother of Atreus. This unconventional trio is set to navigate the afterlife of the gods and face some fierce adversaries along the way.

Quaid expressed his excitement about being part of such a beloved franchise, saying, “To be an original character in a new game in a universe that I love and care so much about, it’s really like dream-come-true stuff for me.” He emphasized that the gameplay is incredible, filled with vibrant characters and a fresh direction while preserving the essence that fans adore.

Mark your calendars, as God of War: Laufey is set to launch on PlayStation 5, although we’re still waiting for the official release date. This new adventure promises to be a thrilling experience for all God of War enthusiasts!
