Hyrule Calling! Ocarina of Time Remake Characters We’re Hyped For (and Terrified Of)

Yaad hai woh din jab Nintendo 64 pe Ocarina of Time khel ke hamari jawani guzri thi? That iconic game, with its timeless story and unforgettable characters, holds a special place in many Pakistani gamers’ hearts. Now, with whispers of an Ocarina of Time remake getting louder for 2026, the hype is real! We’re all imagining Hyrule in stunning new graphics, but what about the legendary (and sometimes nightmare-inducing) faces we’ll meet again? At PakGamersHub, we’ve been thinking about which characters we absolutely can’t wait to reunite with, and which ones we secretly hope get ‘lost’ in translation. Chalo, let’s dive into our list!

Characters We Can’t Wait To See Again!

Richard (Mamamu’s Pyaara Kutta!)

Mamamu ka pyaara kutta, Richard! This little legend, according to Mamamu, was no ordinary dog. He had style, spirit, and a coat that made him stand out. It was genuinely heartbreaking to hear of his passing in the future timeline. Seeing this spunky terrier reimagined in HD, maybe even with a subtle nod to his ‘famous puppy’ status, would be a heartwarming touch. Get ready for some serious puppy power!

The Great Fairies (Pure Diva Energy!)

Ab zara apni soch seedhi rakho, haan? It’s not for *that* reason! (Though, let’s be real, these ladies are total divas!) What we love about the Great Fairies is their sheer unapologetic fabulousness. Their bold makeup, dazzling outfits, and infectious, confident laughter make them truly mythical and larger-than-life. We’re super excited to see how their over-the-top glamour and unique femininity will shine in modern graphics. Bring on the glitz and the mythical vibes!

Saria (Link’s Best Friend)

Saria, Link ki sabse achi dost aur Kokiri Forest ka dil! She was always a beacon of comfort and hope, even when things got dark. Her loyalty to Link was unwavering, and her song, Saria’s Song, was a guiding light. She treated everyone with grace, even the likes of Mido. Saria’s understated yet absolutely vital role in the game makes her a character we truly adore. We can’t wait to see how the remake honors her legacy and brings her kindness to life with new visuals.

The Bombchu Bowling Alley Operator (The Original Indie Cool!)

Before all the cool indie girls we see today, there was the Bombchu Bowling Alley operator! With her stylish bangs and crop top, she was the epitome of cool. She just had that vibe of someone who knew all the best bands and had amazing style. For many, she was an early crush, a true icon of alternative fashion in Hyrule. We’re eager to see how her unique, edgy look translates to the remake, hoping they keep her iconic style intact. She’s a legend for a reason!

Dark Link (The Ultimate Rival!)

Dark Link – the coolest enemy in the game, hands down! This shadowy doppelgänger gave us one of the most memorable boss fights. It felt like entering a whole new dimension, a true test of skill against an opponent who mirrored your every move. The atmosphere, the suspense – it was like an early taste of a ‘souls-like’ challenge. We’re buzzing to see how his menacing presence and this epic battle are brought to life with stunning visuals and enhanced gameplay. This fight has the potential to be a showstopper!

Characters We Hope Stay Lost in Time…

The Lake Scientist (The Creepy Stalker!)

Yaar, this guy was creepy from the get-go! “You may not have noticed, but I’ve been watching you…” – what a way to start a conversation! And then there’s his appearance: skeletal face, weird jaw, and eyes that just stare right through Link (and us!). He gave off seriously unsettling vibes. We’re dreading seeing his ‘upgraded’ look in the remake. Hopefully, they tone down the stalker energy a bit, but probably not!

Mido (The Annoying Gatekeeper!)

Uff, Mido. We know some fans try to defend him, but for us, he’ll always be that annoying gatekeeper who made the game’s opening tutorial a chore. His constant belittling and unnecessary comments were just exhausting. After playing Ocarina of Time countless times, his presence is still just as irritating. He’s like that colleague who always has something to say and delays your work. The ‘Mido Skip Glitch’ isn’t famous for no reason – we all wanted to avoid him! Please, keep him away!

ReDeads (The Scream Inducers!)

Oh boy, the ReDeads. Even with the N64’s blocky graphics, these things scared the living daylights out of us! That bloodcurdling shriek, the way time would freeze, and then them slowly shambling towards you to grab hold… pure terror! Five-year-old us definitely turned off the console more than once to escape them. They’re iconic enemies and probably *have* to be in the remake, but that doesn’t mean we’re excited to face their upgraded horror and hear those screams again in 2026!

The Master Craftsman’s Son (The Ultimate Downer!)

This guy was just a massive downer and plain rude! He’s always complaining about how ‘disgusting’ everyone is, including his own family and Link. Even when you do something for him, his praise is quickly followed by another demand. His negativity was just draining. We’re not looking forward to his grim outlook and unpleasant demeanor getting a visual upgrade. Can we just… skip him?

Dead Hands (The Grotesque Terrors!)

Seriously, Nintendo? As if Skulltulas and ReDeads weren’t enough, we had to deal with Dead Hands too?! Their unsettling color palette, those detached hands that grab you, and then the way they stretch their neck to try and bite you – it was genuinely grotesque. Even after playing countless horror games, Dead Hands remain one of the most uniquely frightening creatures we’ve ever encountered. We understand they add to the challenge, but the thought of seeing them rendered in high definition is… deeply unsettling!

Whether you’re hyped for a tearful reunion with Richard or bracing yourself for the return of the ReDeads, one thing’s for sure: the rumored Ocarina of Time remake has us all reminiscing about Hyrule. It’s a chance to revisit a classic, experience its magic (and its scares!) all over again, but with a fresh coat of paint. Which characters are you most excited (or terrified) to see in the new Ocarina of Time? Let us know in the comments below!
