New Committee Set Up by PM to Tackle Telecom Law Changes

In response to growing discussions in the public and parliament about the recent telecom laws, the Prime Minister has taken the initiative to establish a dedicated committee. This group is tasked with a thorough examination of the Right of Way (RoW) clauses included in the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

The need for a comprehensive review comes as authorities are pushing for a quick resolution to streamline telecom operations in the country. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this committee’s work, instructing them to prepare and submit their final report without delay.

This move aims to address concerns surrounding the regulatory framework affecting telecom infrastructure development in Pakistan, which is vital for enhancing connectivity and service delivery across the nation.
