Release Delayed for Quality Improvements

Gamers, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for Lords of the Fallen 2. Developer CI Games has officially announced that the game’s release has been pushed back from its original schedule to Q1 2027 (January to March 2027).

Why the Delay?

In a statement, CI Games’ CEO, Marek Tyminski, explained that the team discovered significant opportunities for “enhancements” that would improve the overall gaming experience. He highlighted that the extra time will allow them to refine, integrate, and polish the game to ensure the highest quality at launch.

“These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch,”

Avoiding the Competition

The decision to delay also stems from a desire to avoid the intense competition during the holiday season, particularly with the highly anticipated release of GTA 6, which is set for November 19. Tyminski mentioned that this timing will give Lords of the Fallen 2 a chance to shine on its own.

Community Connection

The team is feeling energized by the positive feedback from recent reveals and is committed to delivering a captivating dark fantasy action-RPG that lives up to the legacy of the Lords of the Fallen franchise. Tyminski expressed appreciation for the community’s ongoing support and feedback, promising more updates in the future.

Changes in Distribution Plans

In addition to the release delay, there has been a notable shift regarding the game’s distribution. Initially, there was a licensing agreement that made the PC version of Lords of the Fallen 2 exclusive to the Epic Games Store, but that deal has since been canceled.

Series Continuity

Interestingly, despite its name, Lords of the Fallen 2 is actually the third installment in the series, following the original Lord of the Fallen in 2014 and the reboot in 2023. So, fans can expect an evolution of the franchise with this upcoming title!
