BlazBlue: Central Fiction Revives the Past with New DLC Character!

In a recent showcase for 2026, the developers made an exciting announcement, hinting at new content for fans of this classic 2D fighting game.

The big reveal came at the end of a teaser trailer where BlazBlue producer Riku Ozawa shared details, albeit sparingly, about the new character. While specifics remain under wraps, fans won’t have to wait long for the full scoop, as the character is set to be unveiled at EVO 2026 this weekend.

“As showcased in our teaser, we’re adding a new playable character to the mix,” Ozawa stated during the presentation. “It’s been quite a while since this game was first released, and we owe this new development to the incredible support from fans worldwide who’ve kept the BlazBlue spirit alive. Huge thanks to everyone!”

Ozawa also mentioned that the decision to introduce this DLC character was made just recently. “Usually, we would wait until we have in-game footage to announce a new character,” he explained. “But this time, I wanted to let everyone know we’re on it, even though we don’t have gameplay to show just yet.”

Fans can expect a character who has made appearances in previous BlazBlue titles, adding to the excitement and intrigue. Initially hitting the arcade scene in late 2015 and later making its way to consoles like the PS3 and PS4 in 2016, BlazBlue: Central Fiction has since seen ports to PC and Nintendo Switch, keeping its legacy alive in the gaming community.
