Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour Team Up Again in Exciting New Netflix Spy Series
Netflix is gearing up to thrill fans once again as it brings together Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour in a brand-new spy drama series. This exciting project is helmed by Jack Thorne, the creator behind Adolescence, and comes with a straight-to-series order from the streaming giant.
While the series is yet to be officially titled, Netflix has teased an intriguing plot. Harbour plays Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert. He finds himself pulled back into the dangerous world he left behind when his estranged daughter Rebecca, played by Brown, goes missing during a mission. As an ambitious FBI agent determined to follow in her father’s footsteps, her disappearance forces Matt to navigate a field that has changed significantly since he left.
Though the series lacks a name for now, Netflix has already assembled a talented crew behind the scenes. Notably, Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, and her father, Robert Brown, will be producing the series through their family-owned PCMA Productions. Other producers include Joe Hipps and Patrick McDonald from Cut To, along with KC Wenson for Bravo Axolotl. Both Brown and Harbour will also take on executive producer roles.
Jinny Howe, Netflix’s head of scripted series for the US and Canada, expressed excitement about the project, saying, “We are thrilled to bring this spy drama to life with such an extraordinary group of talent we’ve collaborated with before. Jack Thorne has an unmatched ability to find the deeply human story within a thriller, and audiences are going to love watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite as estranged father and daughter caught in a crisis.” The partnership with A24 is also seen as a perfect fit for this compelling narrative.
Fans are eager to see Brown and Harbour back in action, especially after their heartwarming father-daughter dynamic in Stranger Things. However, the journey to this new project hasn’t been without its bumps. Just as the iconic series wrapped up with its fifth season, rumors surfaced regarding a harassment claim raised by Brown against Harbour. Despite the controversy, the two were spotted together at the series finale premiere, showcasing a strong bond that seems unshaken. Director Shawn Levy defended the cast, emphasizing their familial approach and mutual respect.
As anticipation builds for this new series, fans of both actors can look forward to seeing them tackle a different kind of relationship, shifting from the supernatural chaos of Hawkins to the suspenseful world of espionage. Stay tuned as we keep you updated on all the latest developments surrounding this exciting project!
