Onimusha: Way of the Sword Launch Date Bumped Up

Exciting news for gamers! Capcom has officially moved up the release date for the highly anticipated Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Instead of the previously announced September 25, you can now dive into this action-adventure sequel on September 4. This marks the series’ first new entry in two decades since Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams graced the PlayStation 2 back in 2006.

For those who haven’t been following, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set in the vibrant backdrop of Kyoto during Japan’s early Edo period. If our hands-on experience at Summer Game Fest is anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat! IGN has already given it a solid 8.8 out of 10, so the hype is real.

As an added bonus, a demo version of the game is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC users through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. And here’s a cool incentive: those who try out the demo and keep their save data will unlock a special Kubi Akari charm when they purchase the full game.

This release is just one of many exciting projects from Capcom this year, following the success of Resident Evil Requiem, which has been a fan-favorite with great reviews and impressive sales. So mark your calendars for September 4 and prepare for another epic adventure in the Onimusha universe!
